If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 60 years ago, a liberal 30 years ago and a racist today.
If the United States of America or Britain is having elections, they don’t ask for observers from Africa or from Asia. But when we have elections, they want observers.
If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in 5 years there’d be a shortage of sand.
Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.
It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.
It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than to put on the cloak of nonviolence to cover impotence.
Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.
